Protection Of Granulators
 UPM
use the Pulsotronic MESP underbelt metal detector which has been
specifically designed for fitting directly to our conveyors which are
used to feed our granulators with tops, tails, sprues etc. directly from
moulding machines of all types.
The benefit to the user is that the
Pulsotronic MESP will prevent the majority of small pieces of
metals of all types from entering the granulator thus preventing damage
occurring to the granulator knives leading to contamination of the
granules.
The sensing height of the detector is
limited but covers the whole width of the belt - even to the sides of
the conveyor.
UPM also offer the Mesutronic range of metal detectors, which are in
effect a tunnel type detector that generates a field around the
conveyor.
Protection of Materials
The HS Range
For the protection of granules we can offer the HS range of electronic
all-metal separators which remove metal contamination from free falling
granules, i.e. gravity feed bulk materials.
The bulk materials fall under gravity,
through the metal detection coil and the shaft of the metal separator.
Greater metallic particles present are detected electronically and are
immediately ejected via a quick acting bypass.
The FFS Range
The FFS range of electronic all metal separators remove metallic
particles from materials conveyed by vacuum (FFS-L
series) or pressure (FFS-P series) in pneumatic tube systems.
Metal detection and rejection occurs in
flight at conveying speeds of up to 30m per second.
The product to be demetallised is
transported through the metal detector search coil by vacuum. If a metal
particle is
detected, the rejection valve inside the metal separator opens, the
product flow is then by-passed for a short time and the metallic
particle falls - together with a small amount of good material - into
the rejection container. |
